Foreign trained graduates require an NYSC Evaluation Letter to be eligible to participate in the NYSC service scheme.
The NYSC board have made it compulsory for foreign trained prospective corps members from foreign institutions, whose accreditation are in doubt to upload letter of evaluation during mobilization.
The category of foreign trained graduate who need to obtain evaluation letters are graduates from higher institutions in:-
Ghana
Niger
Togo
Benin Republic
And other Countries which the National University Commission (NUC) has caution Nigerians from studying there due to the uncertainty of the accreditation of undergraduate courses/programmes.
How To Process Your NYSC Evaluation Letter
As a foreign graduate, you are to visit the NYSC portal, register and upload the following documents:
Original O’level certificate i.e. WASC, GCE, NECO, NABTEB, IGCE, GCSE, High School Diploma or its equivalent with five (5) credits including Mathematics and English in not more than two(2) sittings. Note:The senior secondary Arabic and Islamic certificate is for the study of Arabic /Islamic related courses like Islamic law, Arabic studies, Islamic Religious Studies etc.
Original Degree/HND certificate or its equivalent.Please note that letters of attestation or To Whom It May Concern are not accepted in lieu of Degree certificate.
Original Transcript of Degree/HND Certificate or mark sheet (For Indian Universities).
International travelling Passport showing data page and date of departure for the course of study.
International passport showing data page, visa page showing date of departure for studies, date of return to Nigeria after studies. Note:Graduates with dual Nationalities are required to Upload Data pages of both international passports during online registration and present the two passports at the orientation camp for evaluation.
Residence permit for the duration of study (for ECOWAS countries).
Medical Doctors, Pharmacists, optometrists, Nurses, Medical Laboratory scientists must upload evidence of registration with their various professional bodies and practicing licence.
Evaluation Letter from the Federal Ministry of Education.
Graduates who did ‘top-up’ programmes are required to upload Foundation course certificates like NIIT,APTECH, OND, INFORMATICS e.t.c
Please Note: The NYSC evaluation letter can take weeks or months depending on your school. your school is responsible for the processing of evaluation letters.
They will compile a list of graduated students and send to the federal ministry of education Abuja. They will now process your evaluation letter and send back to your school.

My school claimed to have submitted our names to NYSC evaluation quarters since April after getting the previous one they submitted on February in March, till now our names are not yet out, saying the delay is from NYSC office. NYSC don’t always delay list. They don’t even have the right to delay any list. I guess maybe your school is not telling u everything.

Hi, please I studied in Ghana as a regular student because I have dual citizenship but I want to do my service in Nigeria. The school did not incy my name in the list because I did not enrol as a foreign student. Please is it possible for me to do NYSC in Nigeria without being part of the list?
You have to be a Nigerian before you can partake in the NYSC. Being a Nigeria doesn’t mean you have to be based in Nigeria. It means you have to write SSCE, WAEC and other from Nigeria. If you have those from Nigeria, you will be bale to serve.
My own issue is federal ministry of education has not given us feedback for 4 months, for letter of evaluation, and time is running out already, are we going to serve this year??
