The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is a mandatory one-year program for all eligible Nigerian graduates.

All Nigerians who study abroad must also participate in the program.

Mobilization is the process of organizing and preparing Corps Members for their one-year service year.

The NYSC mobilization process consists of several steps, each with its purpose and objective. These steps are:

The Internal Mobilization

This is when institutions will start mobilizing their graduates for the NYSC program. Some schools require graduates to fill out a mobilization form, while others will make it automatically. You can read more about the NYSC mobilization form.

The Senate List

This is one of the most critical steps of the NYSC mobilization. The Senate list is the special list that will contain all the details of every graduate qualified for the NYSC program.

Once the senate list is out, graduates will proceed to verify their names, and once you find your details, you will be eligible to do the online registration.

JAMB Matriculation

One of the hindrances of NYSC mobilization is Jamb Regularization. Those who did not get into the tertiary institution through JAMB will have to regularize.

Online Registration

Online registration is one of the most important steps because you can’t partake in the program if you don’t register.

Prospective corps members must complete their registration on the NYSC portal and provide all necessary information, including their academic qualifications, passport photographs, and other relevant documents.

Physical Verification for Foreign-Trained

This is specifically for Foreign-trained graduates. After the online registration, they will go to some specific location for verification and other essential document checks.

The physical verification exercise is only for foreign-trained prospective Corps Members.

Printing of Call-Up Letters

Orientation Camp

After the release of the NYSC call-up letter, the next thing is the Orientation camp which we can refer to as the end of the NYSC mobilization because, at this stage, you are now a bonafide Corps Member.
