However, while the NYSC Online Registration is one of the most important stages in NYSC, it’s not the first stage and there are things you must have done before you can be eligible for the online registration.

Important Things To Know Before The Online Registration

Before the NYSC Online Registration or before you can even say you want to register for NYSC, you should know or do some things.

Mobilization

Mobilization is the first step in the National Youth Service Corps Programme. This is the process where your respective institutions will mobilize graduates who are qualified for the NYSC program.

There are 3 things to pay attention to at this stage.

1. Graduation list

The graduation list is a list of graduates of a specific institution. Your name has to be on the graduation list before you can do the online registration.

If your name is not present on the graduation list, it means you are not a bona fide graduate of an institution in Nigeria. This then means you can’t partake in the NYSC program.

2. JAMB Matriculation List

The Jamb matriculation list is so important to NYSC that you will never be able to do your NYSC registration if your name is not on this list.

Your name has to be on the Jamb matriculation. This stage is really important you should take some moments to check out these resources below and also make sure you confirm your name is on the list.

3. Accreditation Of School And Course

The last thing you should quickly verify at this stage is your instruction and course accreditation. This is Important and the earlier you know, the better.

Institutions Senate List Update

If you have gone through the Senate list article I recommended above, you should know by now that your institution is responsible for the Senate list.

At this stage, you need to confirm if your institution’s senate list is out or not.

Every institution in Nigeria will release and upload an approved senate list which will contain the names and details of every graduate that is eligible for NYSC.

If your name is not on this senate list, you will not be able to do the online registration.

To confirm if your name is on the school senate list, you have to stay connected to your school. Most institutions always paste it at the DSA and some will upload it on the school portal.

You can ask your friends and even contact your school to know the update on your institution-approved senate list.

After this step, you still need to verify your name on the NYSC portal for senate list before you can finally be able to register.

You need to understand that the fact that your school has released the official senate list does not automatically mean you can go and do the online registration.

Until you are able to verify your name on the NYSC senate list portal, you will not be able to register for NYSC.

Verifying your name on the NYSC portal is easy and also important. Remember that if your name is not on the NYSC portal for senate list, you will not be able to register.
