UniAbuja To Train Corps Members On Skill Acquisition

The Management of University of Abuja has appealed to the National Youth Service Corps for approval to train Corps Members on Entrepreneurship Development during Orientation periods.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Michael Umole Adikwu stated this today when he led a team of officials from the University to the Director-General, National Youth Service Corps, Major General Suleiman Kazaure in his office. See also: NYSC Member In Court For Reckless killing In Osun State

He said there is the need to train graduate youths on vocational training as a way of reducing the increasing rate of unemployment.

The University don added that Uniabuja has facilities that can conveniently train Corps Members in different vocations which would serve as added advantage to their certificates.

“We have come to solicit for the training of Corps Members during Orientation and we could also participate in sewing Corps Members’ uniforms”, Professor Adikwu said.

The Director-General, Major General SZ Kazaure in his response commended the Vice-Chancellorand this team for the visit but advised the University to forward a proposal to NYSC Management on its request.
