WELCOME MESSAGE FROM NYSC DIRECTOR-GENERAL, BRIG GEN SHUAIBU IBRAHIM DSS PhD MTRCN TO THE 2020 BATCH ‘A’ STREAM ONE CORPS MEMBERS
I welcome you all to the National Youth Service Corps family. I thank God for guiding you safely to your various camps. While you are adjusting to life in camp, I want to assure you that your welfare will always be accorded paramount consideration. The NYSC operates a 24-hour Clinic on camp, superintended over by Consultants from Federal tertiary health institutions.
Avail yourselves of the services of the facility and endeavour to declare your health status to enable appropriate management of your condition. You must desist from indulging in self-medication.
It is pertinent to remind you that though life in NYSC camp is regimented, the Management of the NYSC will do its best to ensure that you experience minimum discomfort and make your experience memorable. See also: Message By the NYSC management To 2020 Batch A PCM
I urge you to participate in all the Camp activities, obey camp rules and officials in order to benefit from the Orientation programme which is designed to prepare you for the next phase of the service year.
NYSC staff and officials of other collaborating agencies are trained and readily available to address your training needs.
I also wish to remind you that as ambassadors of your families and alma maters, you must not engage in unwholesome acts that can tarnish the image of the people and institutions you represent. You must therefore shun cultism and other social vices as NYSC has zero tolerance for such and other dishonourable groups.
In conclusion, I welcome you all once more into the NYSC family. Always remember that your success during the service year starts here in camp.
As you document, endeavor to give accurate data and information in the certificate formats given to you to avoid errors which may reflect in your Certificate of National Service at the end of the service year.
I wish you a fruitful Orientation Exercise and rewarding experience.
