The North East Development Commission (NEDC) is to assist the National Youth Service Corps in the provision of infrastructural facilities expecially in NYSC Orientation camps in the North East.
Managing Director of the NEDC, Mohammed Alkali stated this when he hosted the NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Mohammad Kaku Fadah at the NEDC Office in Abuja.
According to Alhaji Mohammed Alkali, the NEDC is an interventionist programme of development and will not hesitate to do its job when necessary.
The Managing Director who said the NYSC is also a developmental programme, added that the industrial borehole being drilled in Gombe and Taraba State Camps are at completion stage while the Orientation Camp in Borno state will be assessed critically to see how the commission can intervene.
On other area of needs, he requested the NYSC to forward to NEDC, it’s training programmes so that the Commission can see how it can intervene.
Earlier, the NYSC Director General informed the NEDC boss that he was in his office to appreciate his kind gesture in drilling industrial bore hole at the NYSC Camp in Yobe as well as extending same to Gombe and Taraba.
General Fadah also thanked the NEDC’s Managing Director for the readiness of the commission to look into the infrastructural development of the NYSC Orientation camp in Borno state.
Highlight of the visit was the presentation of souvenirs to the Managing Director by the NYSC Director General.
